3M™ Weather Resistant Film Tape 838 is composed of a sturdy, thin Tedlar® PVCF Film backing with a high shear strength and a solvent-resistant acrylic adhesive. This tape is well-suited for numerous long-term weather-resistant and protective applications.
The 3.4 mil white tape features a 2.1 mil Tedlar® PVC Film backing that provides enhanced strength without added bulk. This makes it ideal for a variety of building, construction, aerospace, signage, military, window, and door industry uses. The tape exhibits excellent weather resistance, outstanding mechanical properties, and inertness toward a wide array of chemicals, solvents, and staining agents. Lacking plasticizers, the product has good long-term aging characteristics. Despite a broad temperature range from -100°F/-73°C to 225°F/107°C, the tape remains strong and flexible.
